Sound Therapy

Sound Therapy is a complementary medicine which is used to re-tune our mind, body and spirit. Our bodies produce a whole range of notes which, taken together, are as unique as our fingerprints. The various stresses that we are exposed to in our everyday lives can push us out of balance - Sound Therapy can be used to correct this, using techniques called Sympathetic Resonance and Entrainment.

How Does Sound Therapy Work?

Using Sound Therapy, our chakras and energy systems can be retrained using a variety of instruments - the exact instruments used will be dependant on what your body needs. Examples are Tuning Forks, Drums, Gongs, and Mantra. Sound Therapy can be used with great effects for many physical and emotional ailments. It has been used successfully with stress and depression as well as with illnesses such as FMS and M.E./Chronic Fatigue. Sound Therapy also works well when used to change behaviour patterns, fears and phobias. It can be a useful treatment in cases of addiction too.

If you’re simply looking for relaxation, then try a sonic massage. Give your chakra system a complete overhaul, or try a drum journey – Shamanic or past life/ancestral. As with most things however, prevention is better than cure, and Sound Therapy can be used very effectively as a preventative treatment, to ensure your body stays in balance.

During a Sound Therapy treatment, your therapist may use kinesiology to locate which area of your body most needs to receive the treatment, as well as other factors which will determine the exact make-up of the treatment you receive. In other cases, bells and chimes can be used to gain much the same information.

The chimes we sell are ideal for giving yourself a home treatment - when you strike the chime and scan your body with it, the sound will change when you reach an area that needs work. For instance an over-active chakra might change the tone to a louder, more high-pitched tone, whereas an under active chakra may cause the tone to become muffled. You can then work on the area indicated (using sound, meditation, crystals, reiki etc) and then rescan to see if you have made a difference. Of course, the benefit of visiting a Sound Therapist is that you can lay back and relax and enjoy the treatment!

Where Can I get a Sound Therapy Treatment

Nicola offers 30 minutes taster sessions at many of the events Spiralling attends, as well as the treatments listed opposite.

If you would like to book an appointment (either at one of the events, or at another time to suit you) please get in touch. Appointments at events can also be booked on the day.

Nicola works in the Nottinghamshire area, but is happy to receive clients from other areas. If you would like to address a particular issue or health challenge, it is recommended that you book a course of 3 sessions. Nicola is happy to advise on which would be the best course of treatment for you. Treatments are tailor-made to each client's needs.
